India and Nepal Collaborate to Open New Health Post in Darchula
A new health post building has been inaugurated in Naugad Rural Municipality, Darchula, Nepal. This project was completed under the High Impact Community Development Project (HICDP) with financial support from the Government of India, costing Nepali Rupees 25.36 million. The inauguration was conducted by Daljeet Singh Dhami, Chairman of Naugad Rural Municipality, and Avinash Kumar Singh, Counsellor at the Embassy of India in Kathmandu.
The Government of India's grant, under the 'Nepal-India Development Cooperation', was used to construct the health post and its facilities. This initiative aims to improve healthcare services for over 15,000 people in the remote areas of Nepal's far-western region. The project is part of a broader effort to enhance infrastructure and quality of life in Nepal through bilateral cooperation.
India and Nepal have a history of collaboration in various sectors, and the HICDPs are a testament to India's ongoing support in Nepal's development. These projects, previously known as Small Development Projects, began in 2003 and focus on creating essential infrastructure in priority sectors to uplift the local communities.
