IDF Eliminates Hamas Commander Abd al-Hadi Sabah in Gaza Strike
The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) confirmed the elimination of Abd al-Hadi Sabah, a commander of Hamas' Nukhba Platoon, in a drone strike. Sabah was responsible for leading the attack on Kibbutz Nir Oz during the October 7, 2023, massacre. The operation took place in the Khan Yunis area of southern Gaza.
The IDF stated that Sabah operated from a shelter in the Humanitarian Area in Khan Yunis and was a key figure in the infiltration into Kibbutz Nir Oz. He also led numerous attacks against IDF troops during the ongoing conflict. The IDF and Israel's General Security Service (ISA) are committed to targeting all terrorists involved in the October 7 massacre.
Previously, the IDF, in collaboration with the Shin Bet, eliminated 14 Hamas terrorists, including six who participated in the October 7 attack. These operations are part of the IDF's 162nd "Steel" Division's efforts in the Gaza Strip, specifically in Jabalia and Beit Lahia.
The conflict began on October 7, when Hamas launched a large-scale attack on Israel, resulting in over 1,200 deaths and more than 250 hostages taken. In response, Israel initiated a counteroffensive against Hamas in Gaza, leading to over 45,000 Palestinian casualties. The situation has escalated with additional offensives from Houthi rebels in Yemen and Hezbollah in Lebanon, increasing the complexity of the conflict.
