Hezbollah slain leader Nasrallah to be buried on Feb 23
Hezbollah Plans Funeral for Former Chief Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah
Hezbollah has announced the funeral of its former leader, Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah, who was killed in an Israeli airstrike in Beirut on September 23 last year. The funeral is scheduled for February 23, as stated by Hezbollah's current chief, Naim Qassem, in a televised speech. The delay was due to security concerns during a period of intense conflict that ended with a ceasefire on November 27.
In October, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu claimed responsibility for Nasrallah's death, stating that Israel had significantly weakened Hezbollah's capabilities. He also mentioned the deaths of Nasrallah's successors, including Hashem Safieddine, who was killed in an Israeli airstrike on October 3.
Meanwhile, the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) reported that it has killed 50 Palestinian terrorists since launching an offensive in the northern West Bank on January 21. The IDF operations have resulted in the deaths of 35 gunmen in Jenin, Tulkarem, and Tamun, with 15 more killed in drone strikes. The IDF admitted to mistakenly targeting civilians, including a toddler, during these operations.
The IDF has detained 100 Palestinian terrorists, confiscated over 40 weapons, and neutralized more than 80 explosives during 'Operation Iron Wall.' The offensive has also led to the demolition of 23 buildings in the Jenin refugee camps, which were allegedly used by terrorists.
