During a press conference, Saini stated, "Discussions have been held over that. We are going ahead swiftly. The three criminal laws will soon be implemented in Haryana. We will be able to complete the process by 28th February."
Details of the New Laws
The laws include the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS), 2023; Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita (BNSS), 2023; and Bharatiya Sakshya Adhiniyam (BSA), 2023. These laws aim to make the country's legal system more transparent, efficient, and adaptable to contemporary societal needs. Haryana will be the first state and second after the union territory of Chandigarh to fully implement these laws.
Chandigarh's Implementation and Amit Shah's Remarks
Earlier, Amit Shah congratulated Chandigarh for being the first to fully implement the new laws, calling it a "golden day for the Indian criminal justice system." He highlighted that the previous laws were outdated and primarily served British interests. Shah also encouraged Uttar Pradesh to implement the laws in its police commissionerates.
