Bhartiya Janata Party (BJP) leader Ram Kadam has promised to prevent any black marketing of tickets for the upcoming Coldplay concert in Mumbai. This statement came after Mumbai Police summoned Ashish Hemrajani, CEO of BookMyShow, and the company's technical head over allegations of ticket resales at inflated prices.
The Mumbai Police's Economic Offences Wing (EOW) is investigating the matter following a complaint by Advocate Amit Vyas. Vyas accused BookMyShow of allowing tickets, originally priced at Rs 2,500, to be resold for as much as Rs 3 lakh by third parties and influencers.
Ram Kadam stated, "Whoever is involved in this matter should be in jail. We will not allow any black marketing in the state." He emphasized that under Eknath Shinde's government, the culprits will be punished. Kadam also mentioned that the Mumbai Police will uncover the conspiracy and ensure justice.
The highly anticipated Coldplay concert is scheduled to take place from January 19 to 21, 2025, at the DY Patil Stadium in Mumbai. The investigation aims to ensure that fans who have paid for their tickets will be able to attend the event without any issues.
