Bhakti Narasimha Swami, originally from Johannesburg, South Africa, has traveled to Prayagraj, India, to participate in the Maha Kumbh Mela, one of the largest religious gatherings in the world. This event is held at the sacred Triveni Sangam, where millions of pilgrims gather to take a holy dip.
Bhakti Narasimha Swami shared his spiritual journey from Christianity to Sanatan Dharma. He reflected on his early questions about life, such as why bad things happen to good people, and found answers in the principles of karma and reincarnation. These teachings helped him understand life's deeper meaning.
Expressing his excitement, Bhakti Narasimha Swami said, "I came here to participate in Kumbh Mela. I heard about Kumbh Mela many years ago but I could not come here. Kumbh is a festival where a lot of sadhus and saints come together to get a drop of amrit, and it is a very auspicious time."
The Kumbh Mela has attracted a 21-member delegation from 10 countries, including South Africa, Fiji, and the United Arab Emirates. Denesh Persaud from Guyana expressed his joy at fulfilling his dream of taking a holy dip in the River Ganges.
On the fourth day of the Maha Kumbh, over 3 million devotees took a holy dip. The event is expected to see more than 70 million participants. The Prayagraj administration has set up an AI-based lost and found center to help reunite lost individuals with their families.
The Maha Kumbh Mela continues until February 26, with key bathing dates like Mauni Amavasya and Maha Shivaratri still to come.
