New Delhi, India - India and the Czech Republic recently held the 8th round of Foreign Office Consultations in New Delhi. The meeting focused on reviewing bilateral, regional, and international issues. Key topics included political relations, trade, investments, science and technology cooperation, defense, and student exchanges.
The discussions were co-chaired by M Anand Prakash, MEA Joint Secretary (Central Europe), and Katerina Sequensova, Director General of the Non-European Countries, Economic and Development Cooperation Section, Czech Ministry of Foreign Affairs. Sequensova also met with MEA Secretary (West) Tanmaya Lal to discuss bilateral relations and global issues.
Both countries agreed to elevate their cooperation to a Strategic Partnership on Innovation during the Czech Prime Minister's visit to India in January 2024. The next round of consultations will be held in Prague at a mutually convenient time.
