Baloch National Movement Condemns Enforced Disappearances in Balochistan
The Baloch National Movement's human rights section, Paank, has strongly criticized the ongoing enforced disappearances in Balochistan, urging the Pakistani government to release all missing individuals immediately. Between February 2 and 4, 2025, four individuals were reportedly abducted, highlighting a pattern of human rights violations by Pakistani authorities.
Recent Incidents
On February 2, Raziq Baloch was forcibly taken from his home in Pasni. Two days later, Mubarak Siyapad was abducted from a store in Kharan district. On the same day, Ehsan Sarwar and his friend were unlawfully detained in Turbat, Kech district. Additionally, Kamil Sharif was seized in Turbat, with his family's house targeted days earlier.
Call for Action
Paank demands the immediate release of all disappeared individuals and accountability for the perpetrators. They urge international human rights bodies to address this crisis.
Statistics and Patterns
In 2024, Paank recorded 619 enforced disappearances, 68 extrajudicial killings, and 339 cases of torture in Balochistan. A recent incident in Parom, Panjgur, involved the abduction and torture of Azim by a state-backed death squad, led by Bijjar Shambeyzai, allegedly supported by the Pakistan Army.
