Andhra Pradesh Budget Session: Protests and Allegations by YSRCP Against TDP Government

The first Budget session of the newly formed NDA government in Andhra Pradesh began on Monday. Chief Minister and Telugu Desam Party (TDP) Chief N Chandrababu Naidu attended the session at the State Legislative Assembly.

Meanwhile, YSR Congress Party (YSRCP) MLCs gathered at the Assembly wearing black scarves to protest against alleged atrocities in the state. Former Chief Minister Jagan Mohan Reddy also attended the session.

YSRCP MLC Yesurathanam stated that they would highlight the atrocities happening in the state during the council meeting. MLC Ruhulla added that atrocities have increased since the TDP came into power and that they plan to bring these issues to the Legislative Council and Assembly.

The MLCs plan to take their agitation to Delhi to meet with Prime Minister Narendra Modi and President Droupadi Murmu to submit a representation of the atrocities in the state. Ruhulla criticized the TDP government for attacking innocent people instead of focusing on implementing their policies.

On Sunday, Jagan Reddy met Governor S Abdul Nazeer at Raj Bhavan in Vijayawada, alleging that the law and order situation was deteriorating in Andhra Pradesh. He requested an investigation by central government agencies into the atrocities by the TDP government. Reddy claimed that constitutional institutions had failed, and the administration was paralyzed, with no protection for the life or dignity of the people.
