Amjad Ayub Mirza Condemns Pakistan's Control Over PoJK Elections

Mirza highlighted that the appointments of the Chief Election Commissioner and other members of the PoJK Election Commission have been canceled, leaving the region open to political suppression. He described this as a "violation of the sovereignty of the occupied territory" and warned of potential public protests in response.
Mirza also criticized PoJK's Prime Minister, Chaudhry Anwar Ul Haq, for not opposing the decision, labeling him as an "opportunistic" leader. Haq's recent comments about promoting a "jihadi culture" in PoJK have raised further concerns about regional instability.
Mirza accused Pakistan of sponsoring a counter-revolution to suppress support for the Joint Awami Action Committee (JAAC), a group advocating for PoJK's rights. A rally by the Jammu Kashmir Muslim Conference on January 12 aims to promote "Accession to Pakistan," with a large turnout expected, which Mirza sees as an intimidation tactic against JAAC.
He urged the United Nations Security Council to intervene to protect PoJK's dignity and sovereignty, stressing the need for international action to prevent further political suppression and human rights violations.
