In a tragic start to the new year, a terrorist attack in New Orleans claimed 15 lives and injured many more. Altaf Hussain, leader of the Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM), expressed his deep condolences and solidarity with the victims. In a message to President Joe Biden, Hussain conveyed his sympathy, stating, "It is with a heavy heart that I extend my deepest condolences to all those affected by the horrific terrorist attack in New Orleans."
Hussain emphasized that his followers in Pakistan and worldwide, including the United States, stand united with the victims' families. He reaffirmed his commitment to fighting religious extremism, a cause he has championed for 46 years.
Hours after the New Orleans attack, a Tesla Cybertruck exploded outside the Trump International Hotel in Las Vegas, killing one and injuring seven. The FBI confirmed this was a terrorist act, with suspect Shamsud Din Jabbar linked to ISIS. The vehicle, rented from Turo, contained multiple explosive devices.
Hussain offered condolences for both attacks, stating, "I and my millions of followers around the globe are with the victims, the people of the United States, and the bereaved families who lost their loved ones on the first day of the new year." He prayed for the victims and wished a swift recovery for the injured, condemning the acts of terrorism.
