Petty Officer Alex, originally from Nepal, shared his journey to joining the French Navy, inspired by his grandfather who served in the Indian Army. The commanding officer of Charles de Gaulle described the ship as 260 meters long, 600 meters wide, and weighing 42,000 tonnes, with a crew of approximately 1,800 people.
During Mission Clemenceau 25, the Charles de Gaulle and Indian navy ships will participate in the Varuna exercise, aiming to develop interoperability and prepare for multi-milieu threats. France and India, both Indian Ocean nations, regularly collaborate to ensure maritime safety in the region.
