Union Minister G Kishan Reddy and KT Rama Rao Stand Against House Demolitions in Hyderabad
Union Minister G Kishan Reddy met families from Amberpet Assembly, Musarambagh, Ambedkar Nagar, Tulsinagar, and Krishnanagar who are being relocated due to the Musi River beautification project. He criticized Telangana Chief Minister Revanth Reddy for planning to demolish homes and promised central government support to build new houses.
Reddy stated, “These colonies here are around 30-40 years old. The poor people by working hard bought the land and made their houses here. This land was not given to them by the government. Today, Revanth Reddy is talking of big things like the beautification of Musi riverfront and the demolition of the houses here. Earlier, KCR also had said the same thing. I want to tell Revanth Reddy that construct houses, not demolish them, and the Central government will help.”
He also accused Revanth Reddy of corruption and warned that they would fight against the demolitions, even if it meant going to jail.
A day earlier, BRS working president KT Rama Rao criticized CM Revanth Reddy for creating chaos and misery for Hyderabad’s residents, especially during festive seasons. He accused the CM of targeting poor residents out of revenge for not receiving votes and demanded fair compensation, job offers, and financial support for those affected by the Musi project.
KT Rama Rao assured the public that his government would not remain silent if such reckless actions continued and promised that the poor would not be harmed. He also reminded Revanth of his pre-election promises and questioned the implementation of the six guarantees promised within 100 days.
