Karnataka Deputy Chief Minister D K Shivakumar Responds to BJP's C T Ravi's Remarks

In Bengaluru, Karnataka Deputy Chief Minister D K Shivakumar has called on the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) to reflect on their behavior. He stated that the Congress would not be worried if the BJP admits that making derogatory remarks is part of their culture. This statement was made at his Sadashivanagar residence.

Shivakumar criticized BJP leader C T Ravi for making derogatory comments about state minister Lakshmi Hebbalkar and former Chief Minister Siddaramaiah. Ravi was arrested following a complaint by Hebbalkar but was later released by an interim order from the Karnataka High Court.

Shivakumar expressed disappointment that someone like C T Ravi, who hails from the cultured district of Chikkamagaluru, would make such remarks. He also questioned BJP leader R Ashok's defense of Ravi's actions.

In response to Ravi's allegations that Shivakumar was behind the police action, the Deputy Chief Minister denied any involvement, stating it was a matter between the police and Ravi.

Earlier, C T Ravi requested government protection, claiming his life was in danger and demanded a judicial inquiry. He accused Shivakumar and Hebbalkar of conspiring against him and alleged that his phone was being tracked.

Ravi's son, Swarthak Surya, expressed relief at his father's release and defended his father's character, stating that he would never use abusive language, especially against women.
