Harare, Zimbabwe – Cricket’s fastest format is back for another season of thrilling contests. The upcoming season of T10 cricket promises to be bigger and better, starting with Season 2 of Zim Afro T10 in Harare from September 21 to 29. The player draft is set to take place on September 8.

Six franchises in Zim Afro have already signed their icon and global stars as direct signings before the draft. Each team will complete their 15-man squad with an additional 16th player as their Global Icon. The squads will include up to 6 local Zimbabwe players, and the icon and global star can also be from Zimbabwe.

Some notable signings include Australian opener David Warner and West Indies’ Carlos Brathwaite for the Bulawayo Braves Jaguars. Cape Town Samp Army has signed England’s David Willey and Dawid Malan, along with Afghanistan’s Gulbadin Naib and Qais Ahmed. The Durban Wolves have brought in New Zealanders Colin Munro and Mark Chapman, as well as Pakistan’s Sharjeel Khan and Yasir Shah. The Harare Bolts have roped in James Neesham, while the Jo’Burg Bangla Tigers have locked in Chris Lynn from Australia. The New York Strikers Lagos side has picked Blessing Mazurabani from Zimbabwe, along with Thisara Perera from Sri Lanka and Asif Ali from Pakistan.

Following the Zim Afro T10, the season will continue with the US Masters League, Abu Dhabi T10, and the inaugural Lanka T10, which will conclude the season in December. Sri Lanka will become the second ICC Full Member nation, after Zimbabwe, to embrace the T10 format.
