Women’s Hockey India League 2024-25 Auction Highlights
The Hockey India League (HIL) Player Auction for the 2024/25 women’s competition took place in New Delhi on October 15, 2024. Four franchises have formed strong teams for the inaugural season, which will be held in Ranchi later this year.
Top Players and Teams
Udita was the most expensive player, bought by the Shrachi Rarh Bengal Tigers for Rs32 lakh. Dutch player Yibbi Jansen was the highest-priced overseas player, acquired by Odisha Warriors for Rs29 lakh.
Other notable Indian players included Lalremsiami, who joined Shrachi Rarh Bengal Tigers for Rs25 lakh, and Sunelita Toppo and Sangita Kumari, both signed by Delhi SG Pipers for Rs24 lakh and Rs22 lakh, respectively.

Salima Tete and Savita were both bought by Soorma Hockey Club for Rs20 lakh each, while Navneet Kaur was acquired by Delhi SG Pipers for Rs19 lakh.
International Stars
International players like Belgium’s Charlotte Englebert and Germany’s Charlotte Stapenhorst were bought by Soorma Hockey Club for Rs16 lakh each. Australia’s Jocelyn Bartram joined Odisha Warriors for Rs15 lakh.
Unsold Players’ Opportunity
Following a request to lower their base price, several unsold players from the Indian Senior and Junior Women’s teams were picked. Notable signings included Madhuri Kindo, Jyoti Chhatri, Deepika Soreng, and Rutuja Dadaso Pisal.
