Uttarakhand Prepares for 38th National Games with IOC Sponsorship
The Uttarakhand government is excited to host the 38th National Games, with support from the Indian Oil Corporation (IOC). The IOC has agreed to be the bronze sponsor for the event. The Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) department of IOC will soon decide on the sponsorship amount, with a board meeting scheduled on January 28, the day of the Games' inauguration.
Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami has been actively involved in securing sponsorships. He recently met with Union Petroleum and Natural Gas Minister Hardeep Puri in Delhi to discuss sponsorships from IOC and ONGC. Pratik Joshi from the National Sports Secretariat confirmed the decision to make IOC a bronze sponsor after reviewing past experiences.
In preparation for the Games, a new shooting range is being constructed at Maharana Pratap Sports College in Dehradun. This range will be the third largest in India, with 160 targets, making Uttarakhand a potential hub for national and international shooting competitions. The shooting events for the National Games will take place here, featuring targets of 10, 25, and 50 meters.
