In Dehradun, Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami announced new benefits for medal-winning players at the Khel Mahakumbh. Inauguration of Khel Mahakumbh 2024
During the inauguration of the state-level Khel Mahakumbh 2024, CM Dhami awarded Rs50 lakh to Amisha Chauhan, a skiing participant in the Deaf Olympics. Sonia, a gold medalist in athletics, received Rs2 lakh, and Rahul Sarnaliya, a junior event gold medalist, was awarded Rs1 lakh.
Encouraging Sports Culture
CM Dhami emphasized the importance of the Khel Mahakumbh in promoting sports culture, discipline, and teamwork. Last year, over 3.25 lakh players participated, and this year aims to surpass that number. Prize money exceeding Rs11 crore will be distributed through Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT).
