On Wednesday, Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami made a surprise visit to the police headquarters in Dehradun. He reviewed the women’s safety helpline and various activities conducted by the police.

Strengthening Law and Order

During his visit, CM Dhami directed officers to strengthen the law and order in the state. He emphasized that strict action should be taken against those who disturb the peace and that prompt action should be taken on crimes against women. He also stressed the importance of providing immediate police assistance to those in need.

Focus on Crime Prevention

The Chief Minister instructed senior police officers to take swift action on cases related to demography change, conversion, and love jihad. He called for an intensive campaign to catch criminals and regular monitoring of people with criminal backgrounds. CM Dhami also directed officers to conduct field inspections of police stations and cooperate in strengthening them as needed.

Increased Patrolling and Monitoring

CM Dhami emphasized the need for increased patrolling in border areas and keeping a watch on those entering and leaving the state. He directed senior women IPS officers to take responsibility for preventing crimes against women and ensuring quick justice. The Chief Minister also called for better coordination among officers, quick exchange of information, and regular night patrolling in areas with increased criminal activities.

Training and Technology

CM Dhami highlighted the importance of regular training for police personnel, especially in cybercrime and other technology-based areas. He stressed that continuous efforts should be made to reduce crime in the state.
