Barrett expressed excitement about the growing partnerships between UK and Indian educational institutions, noting the increase in postgraduate and master's courses developed jointly.

Barrett highlighted the benefits for Indian students choosing the UK for higher education, including the opportunity to work in the UK post-graduation. The UK boasts a high-quality education system, with four universities in the global top 10 and numerous scholarship schemes available, such as the Commonwealth and Chevening Scholarships.
Scholarships and New Initiatives
Barrett mentioned specific scholarships for women in STEM, creative artists, and language teachers. Newcastle University recently launched two new scholarship schemes for Indian students. The new campus in Gurugram will be established on 60 acres within a Tech Park, with student intake beginning in August 2025.
