Chouhan, who is responsible for Agriculture, Farmers' Welfare, and Rural Development, emphasized that this new year is dedicated to farmers. He mentioned that historic decisions were made in a cabinet meeting led by Prime Minister Narendra Modi to support farmers.

The Union Cabinet approved the extension of a special package on Di-Ammonium Phosphate (DAP) to ensure its availability at affordable prices. The budget for this is approximately Rs 3,850 crore. Additionally, the Pradhan Mantri Fasal Bima Yojana and Restructured Weather Based Crop Insurance Scheme will continue until 2025-26 with a budget of Rs 69,515.71 crore.
Technological Advancements
To enhance transparency and efficiency, a Fund for Innovation and Technology (FIAT) with Rs 824.77 crore has been established. This fund will support technological initiatives like YES-TECH and WINDS.
