On January 25, Union Minister Mansukh Mandaviya chaired a virtual meeting to review the performance of the Employees' Provident Fund Organisation (EPFO) Regional Offices. The meeting aimed to enhance claim settlement efficiency, activate Universal Account Numbers (UAN), and expedite the Pension on Higher Wages (PoHW) Scheme.
The meeting was attended by Sumita Dawra, Secretary of Labour & Employment, Ramesh Krishnamurthi, Central PF Commissioner, and senior officers from the Ministry of Labour and Employment, along with officers from 21 zonal and 140 regional offices of EPFO.
Discussions focused on improving service delivery and accountability. The Secretary briefed the minister on recent initiatives like simplifying the joint declaration process and removing the need for employers in PF account transfers.
Ramesh Krishnamurthi presented a detailed performance report of EPFO's Zonal Offices. Officers shared their experiences and plans for better service delivery. Mandaviya emphasized the importance of PoHW and grievance redressal, urging officials to expedite PoHW cases and complete UAN activation for new members.
He also highlighted the need for effective implementation, accountability, and good governance, directing senior officials to visit field offices for reviews and service improvement plans.
The next review meeting is scheduled for the following month to assess progress further.
