Union Minister Jitan Ram Manjhi Accuses RJD of NEET Exam Irregularities

New Delhi [India], June 24: Union Minister and Hindustan Awam Morcha (HAM) Chief Jitan Ram Manjhi accused the Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) of being behind irregularities in the National Eligibility-cum-Entrance Test (NEET)-UG exams. Manjhi stated, “The thief himself is protesting. The RJD is behind all the irregularities in the exams.”

His comments follow Bihar Deputy Chief Minister and BJP leader Vijay Sinha’s allegations against RJD leader Tejashwi Yadav. Sinha claimed that Tejashwi’s secretary, Pritam Kumar, had called a guest house worker to book a room for Sikander Kumar Yadavendu, one of the accused in the NEET exam irregularities.

Manjhi emphasized that the judiciary is handling the case, saying, “The judiciary is doing its job. Let the judiciary deliver its verdict.”

As the first session of the 18th Lok Sabha commenced, Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan faced criticism from Opposition MPs, who shouted “NEET” as he took his oath. The National Testing Agency (NTA), which conducted the NEET-UG exams, is under scrutiny for alleged irregularities, leading to protests and demands to disband the NTA.

An unprecedented 67 candidates achieved a perfect score of 720 marks out of 720, raising concerns. The Ministry of Education has formed a high-level committee led by former ISRO chairman Dr. K. Radhakrishnan to recommend reforms in the examination process, data security protocols, and the functioning of the NTA. The committee will submit its report in the next two months.
