Bengaluru (Karnataka) [India], October 2: Union Minister HD Kumaraswamy has accused Chief Minister Siddaramaiah of trying to destroy evidence and cover up the MUDA scam. He demanded the immediate arrest of the MUDA commissioner for taking back plots from the CM’s wife, which he claims violates court orders.

Speaking before Gandhi Jayanti celebrations at the JD(S) party office, Kumaraswamy alleged that CM Siddaramaiah, Urban Development Minister Byrathi Suresh, Lokayukta officials, and MUDA officials are conspiring to cover up the scam. He expressed doubts about the return of 14 plots by CM Siddaramaiah’s wife, Parvathi, calling it a violation of court orders and an insult to the judiciary.

Kumaraswamy emphasized that the MUDA commissioner should be arrested for accepting the return of the plots. He accused CM Siddaramaiah of misusing his position to manipulate documents and mislead officials. He noted that after the ED started investigating the MUDA scam and registered an FIR, Parvathi announced her intention to return the plots, which were then reverted to MUDA’s control.

Kumaraswamy found these rapid developments suspicious and pointed out that the MUDA commissioner exceeded his authority by accepting the return of the plots despite High Court and judicial orders. He accused the Chief Minister of misusing Lokayukta officials and interfering in the investigation. He also claimed that fake documents were created to mislead people and that the plots are valued at Rs 62 crores.

Earlier, the ED registered an Enforcement Case Information Report (ECIR) in a money laundering case against CM Siddaramaiah, linked to the MUDA land allotment scam. Following this, Parvathi offered to surrender the 14 plots allotted to her by MUDA. The Mysuru Lokayukta initiated an inquiry and investigation into the case after a court order on September 27 to file an FIR. It is alleged that MUDA illegally allotted 14 sites worth Rs 56 crore to Parvathi in Mysuru city.
