Tragic Shooting at Orebro's Risbergska Education Center in Sweden

A tragic shooting occurred at the Risbergska educational center in Orebro, Sweden, leaving at least 10 people dead and several others injured. The incident took place on Tuesday around 12:30 PM local time. Among the deceased was the suspect, as confirmed by Sweden's Justice Minister Gunnar Strommer. However, the authorities have not disclosed the suspect's identity or motive.

Roberto Eid Forest, head of the local police, stated that there is no indication of a terror motive, but the investigation is still in its early stages. The educational center, which serves approximately 2,000 students, offers adult education, Swedish-language, and vocational courses.

Cellphone footage showed students hiding under desks and chairs, while others fled to safety. A major police operation was launched, with armed special forces securing the area and investigating multiple locations in the city. After several hours, the police evacuated the classrooms, allowing students to leave safely.

Swedish Prime Minister Ulf Kristersson described the event as "the worst mass shooting in Swedish history" and condemned the brutal act of violence. European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen also expressed her condolences, emphasizing that such violence has no place in society, especially in schools.
