Telangana Partners with Skyroot for Rocket Facility in Davos
The Telangana government has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Skyroot Aerospace, a Hyderabad-based space technology company, to establish an integrated private rocket manufacturing, integration, and testing facility. This agreement was signed at Davos, Switzerland, with Chief Minister Revanth Reddy and IT and Industries Minister D. Sridhar Babu overseeing the process.
Chief Minister Reddy expressed his excitement about the development, stating, "Nothing like seeing our homegrown firms making it big on a global level." The project will involve an investment of approximately Rs 500 crore, making it one of the largest private-sector rocket facilities in the country.
Minister D. Sridhar Babu highlighted the strategic focus on the Space and Aerospace sectors, aiming to make Hyderabad a central hub for private space work. Pawan Kumar Chandana, co-founder of Skyroot, expressed enthusiasm about investing in Telangana, aligning with the state's vision for growth and innovation.
Additionally, Minister D. Sridhar Babu met with Eng. Khalid Mohammed Al-Salem, a Saudi Arabian minister, to discuss potential investment opportunities in Telangana, emphasizing sustainability and long-term impact.
