Tamil Nadu BJP President Criticizes CM MK Stalin Over Anna University Case
Tamil Nadu BJP President K Annamalai has criticized Chief Minister MK Stalin's government regarding the Anna University sexual assault case. Annamalai claims that under the DMK, criminals operate freely while BJP members face harassment for being the voice of the people.
In a post on X, Annamalai stated, "Under this DMK Govt in TN, history sheeters & sexual offenders roam freely under the disguise of being a DMK Functionary, but BJP Tamil Nadu functionaries are being constantly harassed for being the voice of the people."
He further claimed that BJP Mahila Morcha members were arrested or kept under house arrest to prevent them from participating in a rally in Madurai, demanding justice for a student assaulted at Anna University in Chennai.
Annamalai accused the DMK government of silencing those seeking justice and criticized CM MK Stalin for curbing freedom of expression. Earlier, BJP's women's wing staged a protest against the DMK government, demanding justice for the assaulted student. The women leading the "Justice rally" were detained by the police.
The incident involved a second-year student at Anna University, who was allegedly assaulted on December 23. One person has been arrested in connection with the case.
