Increased Military Activity Around Taiwan
The Ministry of National Defence (MND) of Taiwan has reported heightened military activity near the island. As of 6:00 am on Thursday, 11 aircraft from China's People's Liberation Army (PLA) and nine naval vessels from the People's Liberation Army Navy (PLAN) were detected. Notably, five of these aircraft crossed the median line, entering Taiwan's northern and southwestern Air Defense Identification Zone (ADIZ).

On January 8, a larger incursion was noted with 25 PLA aircraft and nine PLAN vessels, where 19 aircraft crossed the median line into Taiwan's ADIZ. In response to these activities, Taiwan has showcased its military readiness through an annual media event, demonstrating its combat capabilities with armored units, army aviation, and special forces.
