Taiwan Monitors Chinese Aircraft and Naval Vessels Near Its Borders
On Friday, Taiwan's Ministry of National Defence (MND) reported the detection of seven Chinese aircraft and five naval vessels around the island by 6 am. Five of these aircraft crossed the median line, entering Taiwan's northern and Southwestern Air Defense Identification Zone (ADIZ). The MND stated, "7 PLA aircraft and 5 PLAN vessels operating around Taiwan were detected up until 6 a.m. today. 5 of the aircraft crossed the median line and entered Taiwan's northern and Southwestern ADIZ. We have monitored the situation and responded accordingly."
On the previous day, Thursday, the MND had detected six Chinese aircraft and five naval vessels. Three of these aircraft crossed the median line, and three PRC balloons were also detected. Recently, China has been enhancing its naval capabilities, including launching a large landing helicopter assault vessel and producing floating bridge docks, indicating potential plans to invade Taiwan.
The Taiwan-China issue is a longstanding geopolitical conflict over Taiwan's sovereignty. Taiwan, known as the Republic of China (ROC), functions independently with its own government and military. However, China views Taiwan as a breakaway province under the "One China" policy, leading to decades of tension since the Chinese Civil War.
