Taiwan Monitors Chinese Aircraft and Naval Vessels Near Its Borders
On a recent Saturday morning, Taiwan's Ministry of National Defence (MND) reported spotting 28 Chinese aircraft and eight naval vessels near the island. Out of these, 27 aircraft crossed the median line into Taiwan's southwestern Air Defense Identification Zone (ADIZ). The MND assured that they are keeping a close watch and responding to the situation.
Just a day earlier, on Friday, the MND detected 10 Chinese aircraft and seven naval vessels in the same area, with nine aircraft crossing the median line into the ADIZ. The MND continues to monitor these activities closely.
China has been increasing its military presence around Taiwan, showcasing new naval equipment like a large landing helicopter assault vessel and floating bridge docks, which suggest preparations for potential beach landings. This development is part of the ongoing tension between Taiwan and China, with China viewing Taiwan as a breakaway province under its "One China" policy, while Taiwan operates as an independent state.
