Sunrisers Hyderabad Retains Key Players for IPL 2025
Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) has announced the retention of several key players ahead of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025 mega auction. The retained players include Shubman Gill, Rashid Khan, Sai Sudharsan, Rahul Tewatia, and Shahrukh Khan.
Shubman Gill and Rashid Khan
Shubman Gill and Rashid Khan were initially picked by Gujarat Titans (GT) for their debut season in 2022. Rashid was acquired for Rs 15 crores, while Gill was bought for Rs 8 crores. Gill took over as GT’s captain in 2024 after Hardik Pandya was traded to Mumbai Indians. Gill has been instrumental in GT’s success, scoring 1,799 runs in 45 matches with an average of 44.98, including four centuries and ten fifties. He was named ‘Player of the Tournament’ in 2023.
Rashid Khan has also been a key player, taking 56 wickets in 56 matches with an average of 23.93. He has also contributed with the bat.

Sai Sudharsan, a 23-year-old player, has scored 1,034 runs in 25 matches with an average of 47.00 since joining in 2022. Rahul Tewatia, known for his finishing skills, was bought for Rs 9 crores and has scored 492 runs in 45 matches. Shahrukh Khan, a powerful hitter, was acquired for Rs 7.4 crores and scored 127 runs in seven matches during the 2024 season.
GT’s Performance
In the 2024 season, GT faced challenges, finishing eighth with only five wins and seven losses, after being champions in 2022 and runners-up in 2023.
