Sreeja Akula Becomes India’s Top Table Tennis Player and Aims for Paris Olympics Glory
Sreeja Akula has made history by becoming the first Indian to win a WTT Contender singles title and achieving a career-high ranking of 24. The 25-year-old hopes to carry this momentum to the 2024 Paris Olympics, where she will compete in both team and individual events.
Preparation and Achievements
Sreeja has been working extensively on her mental and physical fitness. She credits her success to the Ultimate Table Tennis experience, which has provided her with valuable exposure. In 2022, she won the mixed doubles gold with Achanta Sharath Kamal at the Commonwealth Games in Birmingham. This year, she has already won titles in Texas and Beirut.
