Singapore President Tharman Shanmugaratnam, along with his wife Jane Yumiko Ittogi, visited Raghurajpur village in Odisha to explore its rich heritage and artisanal diversity. The visit was part of his four-day state visit to India from January 14-18.
Exploring Cultural Heritage
President Shanmugaratnam visited the crafts museum in Odisha and appreciated the vibrant cultural display at Kalabhoomi. Odisha Governor Haribabu Kambhampati and Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi were present during the visit. The President expressed his admiration for Odisha's cultural heritage.
Strengthening Ties with MoUs
During the visit, eight Memoranda of Understanding (MoUs) were signed between Odisha and Singaporean entities. These included agreements for industrial parks, a green hydrogen corridor, and a new city development. Collaborations were also established in the energy sector and FinTech ecosystem.
