Himachal Pradesh is set to celebrate National Voter's Day on January 25 at the historic Gaiety Theatre in Shimla. The event will be presided over by Himachal Governor Shiv Pratap Shukla.
During the celebration, three newly registered young voters from the Kasumpti, Shimla, and Shimla Rural Assembly Constituencies will receive voter cards from the Chief Guest. Additionally, three Booth Level Officers (BLOs) from Shimla district will be honored for their excellent work during the Special Revision 2025. A senior citizen voter, a Divyang voter, and a transgender voter who participated in the Lok Sabha General Election 2024 will also be recognized.
The event will feature Himachali Nati dance and a skit to raise voter awareness. District Election Youth Icon and Himachali Folk Singer Pankaj Thakur will perform. Photo exhibitions related to the electoral process will be organized to educate attendees.
Deputy Commissioner Anupam Kashyap chaired a meeting to ensure the event's success, with various officials in attendance, including Additional Deputy Commissioner Abhishek Verma and others.
