Sammi Deen Baloch Leads Protest Against Enforced Disappearances in Balochistan

In Karachi, Pakistan, Baloch mothers and sisters have been peacefully protesting on the Hub-Karachi highway. They are demanding the return of their brothers and sons who have been forcibly taken. Activist Sammi Deen Baloch is at the forefront of this campaign, raising concerns about extrajudicial killings and enforced disappearances in Balochistan.

Sammi Deen Baloch recalled past efforts, such as the march to Islamabad last year, which sought justice for Maula Baksh, a victim of extrajudicial killing. Despite their demands, the state has not taken action against those responsible, including officials involved in Maula Baksh's death. Sammi highlighted the ongoing struggle of Baloch families, who face the harsh reality of missing loved ones and elusive justice.

She urged the government to adhere to due process, respect the constitution, and halt enforced disappearances. Sammi emphasized that their demands are about justice, human rights, and safety, not politics.

Another activist, Mahrang Baloch, reported that Yasir Hameed was forcibly disappeared by Pakistani security forces three months ago. His family has been searching for him without success, as authorities have not provided any information. Mahrang stated that enforced disappearances are a severe human rights violation and part of the ongoing Baloch Genocide, with the community facing systematic oppression.
