Rohit Sharma and Yashasvi Jaiswal Join Mumbai Squad for Ranji Trophy

India's Test captain Rohit Sharma and young opener Yashasvi Jaiswal have been selected for Mumbai's team in the upcoming Ranji Trophy match against Jammu and Kashmir. The Mumbai Cricket Association announced this decision, highlighting the inclusion of these two players in the 17-member squad. The match is scheduled from January 23 to 26 at the MCA Sharad Pawar Cricket Academy in Mumbai.

Rohit Sharma's Return

Rohit Sharma, who last played in the Ranji Trophy for Mumbai in November 2015, will replace opener Angkrish Raghuvanshi. His recent Test performances have been under scrutiny, with a challenging 2024-25 season where he scored 164 runs in eight matches. As captain, Rohit faced significant challenges, including India's first home Test series loss in 12 years against New Zealand.

Yashasvi Jaiswal's Stellar Form

Yashasvi Jaiswal has been in excellent form, scoring 293 runs in eight T20Is and leading India's run charts in international cricket last year. He last played for Mumbai in the Ranji Trophy in January 2023 before making his Test debut against the West Indies.
