Rear Admiral Susheel Menon Joins Fleet Commanders Conference at Exercise Kakadu 2024 in Australia
Darwin, Australia, September 13: Rear Admiral Susheel Menon, the Flag Officer Commanding Eastern Fleet (FOCEF), attended the Fleet Commanders Conference with leaders from 28 foreign navies as part of Exercise Kakadu 2024 in Darwin, Australia. This event aligns with India’s goal of enhancing maritime security and cooperation through collaborative efforts.
During his visit, Menon interacted with the crew of the Indian Navy P8I aircraft participating in the exercise. They discussed various aspects of Maritime Air Operations and reviewed their Tactics, Techniques, and Procedures.
Earlier, on Wednesday, the Indian Navy’s P8I aircraft, led by Commanding Officer Captain Ajay Kanwar, arrived in Darwin to join the 16th edition of Exercise Kakadu 2024. The Indian Navy will participate alongside more than 30 nations under the theme ‘Regional Cooperation through Trusted and Proven Partnerships.’
Australia’s biggest warfare exercise, Kakadu, includes warships, helicopters, and maritime patrol aircraft from participating countries. Vice Admiral Mark Hammond, Chief of the Australian Navy, emphasized the importance of the exercise in deepening relationships and interoperability between armed forces. He highlighted that this year’s focus would be on greater integration of Australia’s international partners in all aspects of the exercise.
