Ravi Kumar, CEO of Cognizant, Highlights Indian Diaspora's Role in Viksit Bharat 2047

Ravi Kumar, the CEO of Cognizant, spoke about the importance of the Pravasi Bharatiya Samman Award, which honors the achievements of the Indian diaspora. He emphasized that the award is both a recognition of their accomplishments and a call to stay connected to their roots. Kumar highlighted the role the diaspora can play in India's journey towards becoming a 'Viksit Bharat' by 2047, serving as a bridge between India and the world and contributing to the country's economic and geopolitical growth.

Ravi Kumar, who hails from Odisha, will be awarded by President Droupadi Murmu along with 27 others. He noted that the award is a significant honor for Indians living abroad, with recipients from diverse fields such as technology, business, art, and culture. Kumar stated that Indians abroad have been very accomplished and have a unique opportunity to contribute to India's growth story.

The Pravasi Bharatiya Divas (PBD) Convention, organized in partnership with the State Government of Odisha, provides a platform for the Indian diaspora to connect and engage. The 18th PBD Convention, held from January 8 to 10 in Bhubaneswar, focuses on the theme "Diaspora's Contribution to a Viksit Bharat." A large number of Indian diaspora members from over 50 countries have registered to participate.

Ravi Kumar, appointed CEO of Cognizant in January 2023, previously served as President of Infosys and began his career as a nuclear scientist at the Bhabha Atomic Research Center of India.
