Ramesh Chennithala Criticizes Mahayuti Alliance Ahead of Maharashtra Elections

In Mumbai, Ramesh Chennithala, the Congress in-charge for Maharashtra, criticized the Mahayuti alliance, claiming that the Congress has treated all parties equally within the Maha Vikas Aghadi (MVA) as the Maharashtra assembly elections approach. He stated that MVA candidates have filed nominations for all 288 seats, unlike the Mahayuti, which he claims is in disarray.

Chennithala highlighted a conflict within the Mahayuti, where the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) opposed Nawab Malik’s nomination as a Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) candidate. BJP leader Kirit Somaiya accused Malik of being a terrorist and criticized the NCP for nominating him. Meanwhile, Eknath Shinde’s candidate, Suresh Krishna Patil, has begun campaigning for the BJP.

Chennithala accused the BJP of undermining its alliance partners and emphasized that the Congress has only given nomination forms to pre-announced candidates. He urged independent Congress candidates to withdraw their nominations.

Additionally, Chennithala criticized the state government’s Ladli Behen Yojana, claiming it lacks funding and was halted by the Election Commission of India. He accused the government of misleading women voters with false promises.

The Maharashtra Assembly elections are set for November 20, with results to be announced on November 23.
