Punjab Police Conducts Security Checks at Courts for Independence Day 2024

Chandigarh (Punjab) [India], August 5: In preparation for the upcoming Independence Day 2024, Punjab Police carried out extensive security operations at District and Sub-Divisional Courts across the state. This initiative was led by Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann and directed by Director General of Police (DGP) Punjab, Gaurav Yadav.

The operations took place from 11 am to 2 pm in all 28 Police districts. Special DGP Law and Order Arpit Shukla stated that CPs/SSPs were instructed to personally oversee the operation, ensuring a sufficient number of Police teams were deployed under the supervision of SP rank officers.

Police teams checked all suspicious individuals and vehicles around the court complexes using the Vahan app. They also ensured that Door Frame Metal Detectors (DFMDs) and Closed-Circuit Television (CCTVs) cameras at Judicial Complexes were operational.

During the operation, 1421 suspicious individuals were frisked, and 1850 vehicles were checked. This led to 62 challans being issued and one vehicle being impounded. The goal was to ensure foolproof security at Judicial complexes and tighten the noose around anti-social elements.

Additionally, CPs/SSPs were directed to increase Police Patrolling around vulnerable areas to enhance surveillance of anti-social elements.
