In a significant operation, the Punjab Police's Counter Intelligence team arrested two gangsters in Pathankot. The Director General of Police, Punjab, Gaurav Yadav, announced the arrest of Sunil Kumar alias Ashu and Dilpreet Singh alias Dil. The police recovered four magazines and 14 cartridges during the operation.
Sunil Kumar, a resident of Rauwal in Batala, has a criminal record and was recently released on bail from Gurdaspur Jail. Dilpreet Singh, also from Batala, was arrested alongside him. The police discovered that the duo received weapons from the Ajnala area of Amritsar, intended for delivery to an unknown party.
Further investigations are ongoing to trace the source of the weapons and identify other suspects. AIG CI Pathankot, Sukhminder Singh Mann, revealed that secret information led to the arrest. A case has been registered under the Arms Act and Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita at the Police Station State Special Operation Cell in Amritsar. The accused will be presented in court for police remand.
