Kakkar questioned why the BJP was disturbed when AAP offered to reveal the interiors of both the CM's residence and the Prime Minister's new residence, which is under scrutiny for its high cost.
The BJP had accused Kejriwal's residence of having luxurious features like a mini bar and golden seats. Kakkar countered by demanding transparency in the renovation of Prime Minister Narendra Modi's residence, which reportedly cost taxpayers 2750 crore rupees. She urged that the public should see the lavish items reportedly included in the PM's residence.
Meanwhile, BJP leader Gaurav Bhatia accused Kejriwal of using black money from contractors and liquor businessmen to build a large bungalow, contradicting his promise to live modestly. Bhatia claimed that 100 crores of black money were invested in the 'Sheesh Mahal' and promised to present evidence soon.
This exchange of accusations comes as Delhi approaches its assembly elections on February 5. BJP's Virendraa Sachdeva also criticized Kejriwal for not fulfilling promises, including financial pledges to women in Punjab.
