Prime Minister Modi to Address BJP’s Parivartan Yatra Closing Ceremony in Jharkhand
Prime Minister Narendra Modi will address the closing ceremony of BJP’s Parivartan Yatra in Hazaribagh, Jharkhand on October 2. According to party sources, PM Modi will first meet with the tribal community in Ranchi before heading to Hazaribagh’s Gandhi Maidan for the ceremony.
This will be PM Modi’s second visit to Jharkhand in 17 days, following his previous visit to Jamshedpur on September 15. The Parivartan Yatra began on September 20 from six different locations in the state and has seen participation from central and state-level BJP leaders. The yatra has traveled through 200 blocks across Jharkhand, covering a distance of 5000 kilometers, and will conclude in Hazaribagh on October 2.
Top BJP leaders like party president JP Nadda, Home Minister Amit Shah, and Defence Minister Rajnath Singh have already participated in this initiative. During his visit, PM Modi will also lay foundation stones, launch, and inaugurate various projects worth over Rs 83,300 crore at around 2 pm in Hazaribagh on October 2. The initiative will cover approximately 63,000 villages across 549 districts and 2,740 blocks in 30 states and Union Territories, directly benefiting over 5 crore tribal people.
He will also launch the Dharti Aaba Janjatiya Gram Utkarsh Abhiyan scheme with a total outlay of over Rs 79,150 crore. Ahead of the upcoming elections, the BJP is using this yatra to boost the morale of its workers and promote its agenda of bringing change in Jharkhand’s government. Jharkhand is expected to hold elections for its 81-member legislative assembly by December 2024, as the current government’s tenure ends in January 2025. The Election Commission is yet to announce the election schedule. In the 2020 assembly election, Jharkhand Mukti Morcha won 30 seats, Bharatiya Janta Party won 25, and Congress won 16.
