Prime Minister Narendra Modi is set to co-chair an Artificial Intelligence (AI) Summit in Paris, invited by France to lead this significant event. Previous summits took place in London and Seoul. The United States and China will be represented by their Vice President and Vice Prime Minister, respectively, along with industry leaders and start-ups in a week-long meeting.
This marks Prime Minister Modi's sixth official visit to France. Besides the AI Summit, he will attend a VVIP dinner hosted by the French government on February 12. The summit, termed an 'action summit' by French President Emmanuel Macron, aims to focus on AI governance and inclusivity, encouraging global participation in the AI revolution. It will highlight the collaboration between France and India, emphasizing innovation.
Following the summit, Prime Minister Modi will meet with CEOs of top French companies at a forum in Paris. France is the eleventh largest foreign investor in India, with over 800 French companies operating in the country. Diplomatic sources highlight the strong compliance of French companies with India's 'Make in India' initiative, fostering a trusted and universal relationship.
Additionally, Prime Minister Modi will hold bilateral discussions with President Macron in Marseille, focusing on aerospace, engines, submarines, and nuclear reactors. Diplomatic sources indicate that successful progress is being made, with potential bilateral agreements and announcements expected. The bilateral roadmap may also be unveiled, covering technology, innovation, cyber, space, security, and people-to-people contact.
