On January 10, President Droupadi Murmu arrived at Janta Maidan in Bhubaneshwar, Odisha, to attend the valedictory session and the Pravasi Bharatiya Samman Award ceremony. The Pravasi Bharatiya Divas Convention, organized by the Government of India in partnership with the State Government of Odisha, serves as a platform for the Indian diaspora to connect and engage. This year's theme is "Diaspora's Contribution to a Viksit Bharat," with participants from over 50 countries.
Ravi Kumar, CEO of Cognizant, highlighted the importance of the Pravasi Bharatiya Samman Award, which recognizes the achievements of the Indian diaspora and encourages them to stay connected to their roots. Kumar, along with 27 others, will be awarded by President Murmu. He emphasized the role of the diaspora in India's journey towards becoming a 'Viksit Bharat' by 2047, contributing to the country's economic and geopolitical growth.
