Prime Minister Narendra Modi met with Kuwait's Foreign Minister, Abdullah Ali Al-Yahya, in New Delhi to discuss the strong and historical relationship between India and Kuwait. Al-Yahya described India as a "very important partner" and expressed a desire to elevate the relationship to a strategic partnership. He praised PM Modi as a wise leader who has elevated India's global standing.
A significant outcome of the visit was the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding to establish a Joint Commission for Cooperation. This will include new working groups in areas like trade, education, and security, aiming to strengthen bilateral relations further.
The Indian community in Kuwait, numbering around one million, plays a crucial role in the country's economy and cultural life. This community is the largest expatriate group in Kuwait and is highly regarded for its contributions across various sectors.
