Phil Foden, a star attacker for England, has temporarily left the EURO 2024 squad due to a family matter. Foden was part of the starting eleven in England’s recent match against Slovenia, playing until the 89th minute but not scoring.

The Football Association (FA) released a statement confirming that Foden has returned to the UK for a pressing family matter. According to reports, Foden left the camp to attend the birth of his third child.

England, led by Harry Kane, finished at the top of Group C after winning one of three matches and earning five points. They will face Ronald Koeman’s Netherlands in the Round of 16 on Sunday in Gelsenkirchen. The Netherlands finished third in Group D.

England had a strong start to the tournament, defeating Serbia 1-0 with a goal from Jude Bellingham. However, they shared points in their next two matches against Denmark and Slovenia.
