At the World Economic Forum in Davos, Switzerland, Pankaj Munjal, Managing Director of Hero Cycles, revealed plans for a significant investment. Munjal announced that Hero Cycles will soon unveil a billion-dollar supply contract. He highlighted the increased Indian presence at the event, noting a 30% rise in attendees from India.
Munjal also hinted at Hero Cycles' potential entry into the electric vehicle market. When questioned about a new plant in Telangana, he clarified that it is still in the Detailed Project Report stage. The state's Chief Minister has been actively engaging with major companies like Hyundai, ZF, BMW, and Foxconn, but Munjal emphasized that such investments require time and thorough feasibility studies.
In other news from the forum, Chirag Paswan, India's Union Minister for Food Processing Industries, announced a USD 250 million investment from Belgium's AB InBev into India's beverage sector over the next two to three years. Additionally, Maharashtra has secured investment proposals exceeding Rs 4.99 lakh crore.
