In Islamabad, Pakistan's Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has condemned the attack on Rangers and police officers by Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) protesters. He called for the identification and accountability of those responsible. During the ongoing PTI protest demanding the release of Imran Khan from Adiala Jail, four Rangers were killed and five others injured when a vehicle ran them over on Srinagar Highway. Since the protests began on November 24, 25 policemen have been killed, and over 100 injured. The Pakistan Army was deployed in Islamabad under Article 245 of the Constitution, with shoot-at-sight orders reportedly issued.
The PTI rally, led by Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur, entered Islamabad, marking a significant protest for Imran Khan's release. The rally included convoys from Hazara Division, DI Khan, and Balochistan, merging at the Hakla interchange. Bushra Bibi, Imran Khan's wife, and other senior PTI leaders are participating in the protest.
