A six-member IMF delegation arrived in Pakistan to meet with Chief Justice Yahya Afridi. The visit is part of an IMF mission to conduct a Governance and Corruption Diagnostic Assessment under Pakistan's 2024 Extended Fund Facility program. The assessment aims to address corruption vulnerabilities and improve governance.
PTI's Allegations of Rigged Elections
On February 8, PTI marked the anniversary of the previous year's elections with a public meeting, claiming the elections were rigged. PTI leaders, including Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur, demanded the release of party founder Imran Khan, asserting that their mandate was stolen.
PTI chairman Barrister Gohar Ali Khan emphasized the campaign's goal to inform the public about the alleged theft of their mandate. He claimed that PTI could have formed a government if not for the alleged rigging.
